Less than one month late!!

Friday, December 9, 2016

It feels like we are REALLY overdue here, but when I count on my fingers, we are LESS than 4 months late. I'm going to go ahead and round down to 3 months late, which is, practically, on time.

Anyway, as you'll see a lot has happened this year, lots of good, some quite bad. The anniversary, perhaps, came and left without an appropriate level of celebration. There was talk a while back about a 10-year trip to Ecuador, but we *did* go to Tahiti and the Bahamas this year, and so another big trip fell off the table. When it came down to it our biggest celebration was a trip to Climb Nashville, which, of course, was awesome, but looking back on it, nobody seems to feel it deserves credit as 10 year anniversary celebration.  I think we might be banking something for later in the big trip category.

Without further ado, here is a solid ten plus minutes of pictures from our our tenth year of marriage. Thanks to God for putting us together and sustaining us.

Everybody celebrate by watching our video!
(if you're listening to the music on this video and thinking "ooh, I really like that second song", then do yourself a favor and go check out Myzica on iTunes or some other new age music delivery service; you're welcome).

Apologies for our delay in posting. I know everyone was waiting with 'bated breath, but house buying keeps a family busy!

The last 12 weeks have been a really crazy finale to a really great six years. Since Hamish has been born we've spent...

2.5 weeks in our Singapore Toa Payoh home
5.5 weeks in our temporary Singapore Haw Par apartment
1+ week in South Carolina
1+ week in Mississippi
1+ week in Tennessee (in three different homes!)

Yesterday was my first day back at work, and Sunday will be one full month that we've been living out of our car. Thankfully, we won't make it quite that far. On Saturday we will collapse move into our next landing spot: a friend's guesthouse for the next 7 weeks.

We have such good and hospitable friends and family, but I can't tell you how happy we'll be to no longer be living out of our trunk and our suitcases. But I also expect the reality of the international move to hit me about then. Honestly, I have fully expected to zip up my suitcase and fly back to Singapore any day now.

So our 6th anniversary video is a bit late--and not quite as creative as I might have hoped for--but this is the first time I've seen my computer's power cord in a month and I am still missing a memory card.

Enjoy.

Hooray!

Monday, August 31, 2009

This has been an abnormally busy week/weekend with work for both of us (magazines closing, presentations given, freelance deadlines) but we did manage to get away for an anniversary dinner on Friday night and a wine and cheese movie-under-the-stars on Saturday night. And of course, we have the anniversary video! (Look at me, two years in a row!)

In case you aren't sick of it yet (Don't be! There's more coming!), we've been married two years and are very happy about it. A couple of months ago, friends of ours showed off their amazing vacation pictures in a slide show movie format and I was pretty impressed with what you could sum up in 5 minutes or so.

So, I made a slide show of our second year of marriage. It's about 5.5 minutes long and includes music. I'd like to think that this would be a bit of a tradition. I'm not so good at scrapbooks, but (we think) this is a good capsule of this year. I also like to think I'll get a lot better at it because I swear this 5.5 minutes took me 5.5 hours to create.
